A Lead is a business or person with whom you have potential to do business (i.e. “Mr. Smith” or “Henry’s Custom Builders”). An Opportunity is the actual project (i.e. “Smith Home Remodel” or “125 Acorn St- Bath Addition”) associated with a lead. Retail-type Leads may have only one Opportunity with you. While business-type Leads (builders & contractors) may have multiple Opportunities since they usually have several different projects going at the same time.
Leads/customers remain in your Business Directory until you deactivate them. Opportunities turn into Jobs and eventually are complete. Once complete, the Job should be deactivated so you can focus your time and efforts on new Opportunities.
